went to buy e textbooks.. ex.. -.- and i'm like almost buying 1st hand for all 5 modules, except for stats, which i bought from yee qian.. y can't they stop changing e recommended textbooks every sem? waste my money go buy 1st hand stuff.. -.-

tutorials been quite ok so far.. although lecture wise they simply can't be compared to last sem's.. this sem's lectures are just dead boring.. i mean e lecturers.. of course then again there's e exception.. e psychology lecturer's quite enthusiastic about her stuff and er hmmm.. not to mention tt she's quite young and pretty too.. =x and hmmm.. she has a PHD if i'm not wrong.. one thing to mention though, she goes through e lecture notes so fast.. wat was supposed to be a 2hr lecture ended in just 1hr..

oh ya.. i passed my driving test!!! hohoho.. let me recount wat happened on tt day.. firstly it was raining on my way there.. but i thought tt it was a good thing, cos e other drivers on e rd would then be not driving tt fast.. e rain reduced to a drizzle by e time i got to e driving centre and man.. my warm up was fast.. done in 30min, when it was supposed to last 45min.. 1st to reach back e driving centre.. and so was it for e test itself.. haha..

didn't do any e-brake or u-turn for e test.. haha.. yah yah.. lucky me.. and to think tt i could still pass after striking e kerb.. at only e 3rd obstacle for e test somemore.. but tt's my only mistake k? i didn't even get another single tick for e whole paper, save for e tick tt indicated tt i passed e test.. so 10 demerit points it was.. happy.. :)

just remembered tt i forgot to mention about e suayness tt surrounded my 22nd b'day.. well, i think i'll save e post for another day..

就要开学了。。 上学期的成绩也已经揭晓。。 总得来说还算过得去。。 只是对我的商业法律成绩有些不满。。 也不知是怎么搞的。。 才刚刚及格。。

had e AA101 practise assigment and biz law written assignment some weeks ago.. supposed to receive them back this week, but i guess e efficiency of NTU nv fails to push things back.. so i'm gonna get them back next week after all.. at least tt is wat they say.. e practise assignment was downright depressing.. perhaps i nv really prepared myself enough for tt.. but it sure felt sucky tt after having obtained perfect scores for e earlier accounting quiz and maths mid term test, i'll be faced with such a demoralising test.. dun think it'll end up so bad as to fail.. but den e marks wun be good..

wasn't exactly happy with my comms fundamental presentation grade either.. e tutor said tt my nervousness was quite telling.. i wonder how tml's presentation would go.. chose something tt i'm quite confident no one else would choose, although it's not tt everyone dunnoe about it.. dun think many singaporeans would immediately link something tt's uniquely singapore with e image tt singapore is a 'fine' city..

so i got a taste of wat it's like having a free-rider in e project group.. man.. and he was a total free-rider too.. couldn't be bothered about e progress of e project.. didn't care less.. but since e other guy in e group (who contributed more than me) nv mention anything about e free-riding issue, i didn't too..

finally booked tp e other day.. so it's gonna be on 11 jan, a thursday.. hopefully i dun miss too many classes tt day, since school would have already started.. went to e cdc website to check e slots for driving lessons.. and discovered something bad.. hopefully it's e system tt screwed up.. cos booking of lessons for jan is supposed to start only on 15 nov, but e website showed tt all lessons from 3 jan to 18 jan have been fully booked.. tt would mean tt i won't be able to put in any revision lessons in jan, b4 my tp.. which is v bad.. argh.. pls tell me tt e system screwed up..

so bra managed to get his application for entrance into BMS approved.. at least in principle.. he still gotta send in e proper application during e hols.. seems like BMS and accountancy grads are currently in pretty hot demand.. had an article in ST today tt stated BMS was one of e 3 things tt e sg government is placing its bets on.. and just a week ago, there were 2 acticles saying tt accounting grads r in short supply, even with like at least 1000+ grads being churned out every year.. and 600+ of them from ntu.. seems to me tt it is not really a problem of talent shortage but high turnover rates at e big 4.. not to mention tt they pay e same starting salary to all grads, regardless of their class of honours.. which unsurprisingly, have prompted top accountancy grads to look for greener pastures in e banking and investment sector..

feeling a sense of false sense of serenity.. perhaps it's e calm b4 e storm.. dun really feel e urgency to study for exams yet.. even though they r like less than 2 weeks away..

many things to blog about.. but i guess i can't remember all of them all at once.. haha.. talking about tt, i suddenly thought of a dream tt i had e other time.. maybe i'll blog about it some other time.. now, it's time for something else..

AA101 quiz. yup.. easy peasy.. no, really.. quite a few ppl got full marks for it.. me included.. :) but nothing much to boast about.. since it was meant to be easy.. tt's wat e tutor said.. and she also mentioned something to e tune of: ppl ask us y our (NBS) entry requirements are high and yet we dun produce many As and A-s.. so this time round, we will try to produce more.. fm make-up lesson today. attended by prob only slightly more than half e class.. guess e rest figured tt e oppotunity cost of attending it was too high for them..

pangya and dota. i think my skills r getting rusty.. pretty rusty.. and pangya just continued it's crazy rate of patching.. wat can i say.. just hope they can maintain it.. silvia cannon is a killer.. prob will only return to play it's 18 holes when i reach 250y.. which is like nv going to happen.. discovered some interesting commands for e ai map for dota.. pa with buriza and 5 divine = godly.. 5800+ dmg.. first tower down in 4 hits.. enough said..

dreams. had a spate of dream control just a few weeks ago.. feel great to have such a streak after a long period of non-dream control.. and i now noe tt e scientific study of dreams is called oneirology..

dreams. found a lot of info on lucid dreaming on wikipedia.. they even have a wiki on it.. and in this particular section under dream control, they even teach u how to do certain stunts in yr dream.. for example, for flying, they teach u e different methods of flying, such as:

-Flying like a bird: flapping one's arms/wings serves to propel oneself through the air. (Note: sometimes takes painfully long to gain altitude--not recomended for quick escapes)

had a couple of firsts in my dream control experience in this year, particularly e last few months.. one was e conducting of a reality check.. seriously nv expected myself to do one.. usually i would be very confident of e fact tt i noe tt i am dreaming.. but i guess tt time my confidence level wasn't too high.. after all, e stunt tt i was going to try out after performing e reality check was a dangerous one.. so wat was it? well.. jumping off a building.. yeap.. tt was my 2nd time tt i did tt in my dream.. totally adrenaline pumping experience, even though it was only in a dream.. anyway, e reality check tt i did was to pinch myself and feel no pain.. haha..

but.. but, who was to guess tt i did something even more crazy in a later dream? i did a few building jumps, all in e same dream.. kinda felt like those extreme-sports free-running ppl.. no barriers.. yeah man..

another first came in me flying to this person's house to look for e person.. sadly and irritating enough, e person was not at home.. argh!!! i think of all e possible stunts tt can be done in a dream, my weakest has got to be summoning objects and people.. i totally sux at it.. lol..

now wat i have in mind for my next dream control is pretty crazy and most likely to fail.. i'm going to try to bring someone from his dream into my dream.. ya.. u nv read wrongly.. e idea actually came about some years ago and considering tt i have done just about any stunt tt my puny mind can come up with, i think i'll do this for a change.. be on e lookout to see my notice on e failed attempt.. lol..

of course to do wat i stated above, i need to find other ways to meet up with e person in e first place.. currently thinking of calling e person up with my hp in e dream, then arranging to meet at a particular place..

uncontrolled junction. there's this uncontrolled junction ie. trafficlight-less junction some distance from my hall.. between e art school and hall 2.. wasn't really surprised to see tt an accident had happened there while i was walking to my tutorial venue this morning.. just don't understand which stupid guy refuse to install traffic lights there.. it's not as if traffic flow is low at tt junction, so as to warrant it being devoid of traffic lights.. also, e recently added plants and barriers just only served to further inconvenience jaywalkers, although not to e point tt they will be obedient and start using e not-so-nearby zebra crossings.. i seriously think whoever has e power to install traffic lights there but did not do so, have no brains..

IT quiz. just completed it today.. had a sinking feeling when i saw my results on e screen.. got a 75/100 when e average was 78.2.. quite demoralising.. maybe it so just happened tt i got a more difficult set of questions.. bleh.. anyway, it seemed as though e tutor talked too much for once.. and for nobody's good.. he said tt it takes someone spectacular to fail e quiz.. which as it happened, was wat 2 or 3 students did.. and it was e first time tt anyone failed e quiz..

MAS801. just pray tt e mid-term test for this elective tml would end up better.. gotta go off now and start studying for it..

shall keep this post short and sweet... cos in a bit of a rush of time for my driving session... lol... having my 12th and 13th session later... let's see e progress so far... 11 sessions and i've covered 17 points in e training record book and 2 test routes out of e 29 points and 10 test routes... hopefully will be able to cover 6 test routes todae... although i think it might be a bit shag... haha... seems like my progress is quite fast... as commented by blandon and my instructor... well, isn't tt gd? muahaha... can save money and time...

have been having problems with engine stalling like 4-5 times in a session for e past few sessions (perhaps more? lol) but improving on it and yup, achieved 0 engine stall in e last session... ok... not 0, but e only engine stall tt happened wasn't really due to my fault... -.- now also more clear about moving off on slope using e half-clutch technique...

actually could have done like 3 test routes last session but was stuck at this u-turn for 10+min... and it was all because it suddenly seemed tt all e learners were learning this particular test route/u-turn at e same time... ~80% of e cars queueing up for e u-turn were L-plates? -.-

before i leave, i gonna set up another post to remind myself e stuff tt i need to bring to e hostel...

one week gone by without any driving lessons... resuming lessons e coming week... suddenly had e urge to play back those classic games of yester days... so i went to download wolfenstein castle 3D... one of e earliest FPS tt existed but despite tt fact, is quite a well done game for it's generation... and it's still e good old graphics, sound and game tt i played a decade ago... e boss's one tough guy to beat... at e 2nd easiest difficulty, i'm having trouble killing him... haha...

another great game of yester day, atomic bomberman, is one which provides endless hours of fun... lol... still can remember e times when we played it during computer lessons back in cchs... simple gameplay but addictive... downloaded e demo but it was very problematic... saying wat software had expired... haiz... really liked e game...

e worms series was another batch of great games... downloaded e worms armageddon demo only to discover tt after playing around with e game settings and team creation, i had time for just 1/10 th of a game before e trial time ran out... wasted my time downloading e demo... -.-

back to driving, i'll be learning u-turn pretty soon... probably on tues or wed... wonder how i'll fare... haha... just finished learning blindspot last lesson...

learnt from brandon tt his friend had also intended to join e NBS camp but was not notified of e foc briefing by e commitee, just like me... turns out tt e NBS foc is full... but e thing tt pissed me off was tt e commitee didn't have e decency to notify those tt had applied for e foc but failed to be part of it... alternatively they could have included, somwhere in e pamphlet, e point tt e situation of e foc reaching max capacity might happen... seriously no decency shown by e commitee...

and i'm starting to wonder if it's in e culture of NTU for such things to happen... 15 more days to start of school and i still do not noe which hall i'm allocated to... e foc mail sent by e student union arrived much later compared to nus (not sure about smu)... basically e effiency of NTU and of anything related to it, up till this moment, can be summarised in one word: sux

yup, so at e end of e 1st session i'm already in e circuit driving in e outermost lane and by e end of e 2nd session i'm doing sharp bends... continuing on tt later cos my sharp bend still not gd... should be doing till traffic junction todae i think... and will be on public road by session 4? lol... then e road users will have 1 more road hazard to worry about ---> me lol...

k, shall blog about my trip to genting tt time... so unfortunately, like e previous visit there, i didn't get to enjoy e outdoor theme park... sad... anyway looking at how genting has changed over e years, i think it still has a long way to go... when can it be anything like how disneyland is organised and customer-oriented? even if it's anything vaguely similar... e poor maintainence of e games/theme park hasn't much changed... and nooooooooo~ e fortune telling machine wasn't there! if u remember, there was this machine where u put yr coin in and this jap doll will enter a house, pick up a rolled-up piece of paper and drop it into e outlet for u to read... had wanted to have my fortune read again (since it was pretty accurate e previous time), but so sad tt it's gone...

however e main highlight of e trip was my 1st entry into e casino! huge place... grand, lavish, crowded, loud and jackpots aplenty... u'll find practically all sorts of gambling games there. esp those tt involve cards... particularly amusing was e digital roulette... there was this centrally placed roulette surrounded by kiosks where punters could digitally place their bets... and so at e beginning of each round, u'll see e digital roulette betting table suddenly ballooning up with all sorts of coloured chips...

looking at e amount of money tt ppl bet and e prizes listed in e jackpot's jackpot, u can only marvel at e seriousness of e whole gambling business and how some ppl will just bet tt one penny to try out their luck... u can get engrossed even without actually playing... tt's how dangerous a casino can be...

and yap, e casino runs 24/7/365... there's no clocks and no direction signs to e exits... so u won't noe wat time of e day it actually was... and e lack of direction signs acts as a way of luring u to play another round as u figure out yr way out of e casino...

watched e dialogue with MM Lee e other time... surprising still v shrewd and crafty in his responses at his age... and i thought some of e participants were slightly over zealous and maybe rude... well of course e whole thing was supposed and was meant to be a two-way thing, but surely u could wait until e person in question finish his/her speech 1st...

but then again, such dialogues with leaders holding important roles are by and large hard to come by... which is really quite sad...

some days ago i went to e driving centre to take my trial basic theory test and there were a couple of foreign workers and non-english and chinese ppl in e room... so well, u were to type in yr user id and password and start on e trial test... with just 15min before e test ended, the instructor in e room discovered tt one of e foreign workers apparently had just stoned in front of e com all e while, nv logging in and start on his test... and so e instructor said: "hey brother... how come u sit there so long still haven log in? y u nv ask for help?"

hmmm... tt set me thinking... abt foreign workers coming here to work... in a place tt is so alien to them... abt doing this just so tt they can provide for their family back home... abt doing this so tt they can have a better future...

poverty nv fails to set me thinking... abt lots of stuff... abt my childhood... abt her... abt life... i think i'm more nostalgic than i ever thought i was...

i used to, on quite a regular basis, send friendship sms-es to my friends... recently tt frequency has dropped by quite some bit... and during tt period in which i nv send any friendship sms, only 1 person continued to actively send me those kind of sms... it's only when i start to send sms again, like yesterday, tt some of my friends replied with similar sms-es... are friendships/relationships supposed to be like tt? a 1 to 1 passive exchange? deep down inside i seriously hope not...
